It is based on the new Intel 5500 chipset and will accept up to 2 Intel Xeon 5500 series processors with 2 or 4 cores each. This system has been certified to support VMWare virtualization applications helping small to medium sized business reduce TOC and simplify central management. One PCIe 2.0 x16 slot and two PCIe x8 slots will allow for flexible expansion later on and two additional slots: one for optional PIKE cards brings seamless upgrade to SAS storage one for optional ASUS unique MIO audio card.
